Biocidal products are intended to destroy harmful organisms, so it is particularly important to provide accurate and transparent information about the product’s purpose, effects, and safe use in its advertising. Advertising content must realistically reflect the characteristics of the product, not create misleading associations, and comply with the relevant EU and national legislation of the country in which the advertisement is published.
Advertising content can be distributed through various channels – online, in print media, on radio, on television, etc. In order to ensure consumer safety, it is necessary to ensure that each method of information transmission used (audio recordings, photographs, videos, texts) creates a realistic image of the product.
Expert evaluation of biocidal product advertising will provide reliable protection against the risk of legal violations and will strengthen consumer confidence and protect businesses from financial losses or reputational damage.
Taking into account the type of product, target market, and advertising channels used, we provide the following services:
- We ensure that biocide advertising complies with current legal requirements.
- We check that the advertising does not contain any prohibited or unjustified claims, such as “low-risk biocidal product,” “non-toxic,” “environmentally friendly,” etc.
- We advise on visual communication – we check whether illustrations, colors, symbols, and product designs create misleading associations.
- We prepare and adapt advertising texts in accordance with the language and advertising standards of various EU countries.
Advertising biocides: what to pay attention to?
Advertising of biocidal products must comply not only with general advertising rules, but also with the specific requirements set out in the BPR Regulation.
Advertisements must not contain statements that downplay the risks of using the product or give the impression that the product is completely safe, natural, or harmless.
Visual solutions must also be responsible: it is prohibited to use images or packaging that resemble food or beverages or that could attract the attention of children.
Countries where we provide this service
